BBC Opus Arte is delighted to announce the release of two spectacular
DVD's featuring the Queen's Jubilee Concerts, 'Prom at the Palace'

in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Under the creative guidance of Sir George Martin, Phil Ramone and
Sir Andrew Davis, some of the world's most celebrated pop and classical
musicians gathered together for these sensational events.
The BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, under the baton of their
Conductor Laureate Sir Andrew Davis, formed the backbone of the
two hour classical concert - Prom at the Palace - on June 1st.
Opera fans enjoyed a particular treat with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa
(singing Bizet and Gershwin), Sir Thomas Allen (Rossini and Sir
Edward German), and Roberto Alagna and Angela Gheorghiu (Puccini
and Verdi) sharing the honours.
From the beautiful Music Room and Ballroom in the Palace, the audience
enjoyed performances by Mstislav Rostropovich and the cello section
of the LSO (Villa-Lobos), and Roberto Bolle and Zenaida Yanowsky
(Swan Lake).
The second concert - Party at the Palace - took place two days
later on Jubilee Bank Holiday Monday, June 3rd, presented by Ben
Elton, Lenny Henry and surprise guests.
The fantastic line-up of artists, who have between them sold in
excess of 500 million records worldwide, included Annie Lennox,
Atomic Kitten, Blue, Bryan Adams, Brian Wilson, The Corrs, Sir Cliff
Richard, Sir Elton John, Emma Bunton, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker,
Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Mis-Teeq, Sir Paul McCartney, Phil Collins,

and remixed for DVD, giving everyone the opportunity to own a permanent
record of this once-in-a-lifetime event.
